Installed at Dynamic Earth (Sudbury, Ontario), Nickel City Stories is a custom multimedia experiential theater that celebrates Sudbury's rich cultural and mining history. The nostalgic show set brings the audience into a barbershop, and also the unofficial museum of oral history. Louie, its loquacious curator, has collected hundreds of regional stories, which he brings to life with expert storytelling; the theater being a perfect illustration of our belief that good storytelling is always at the heart of a great visitor experience.

Louie is rendered by means of a classic Pepper's Ghost effect. His semi-transparent appearance suggests an ethereal timelessness, while his homespun humor and genuinely warm personality welcome and engage the visitor. The shop itself is a secondary character with visually intriguing, commonplace objects subtly accented by theatrical lighting.
